It is a migratory bird that ranges from southern Canada to northern Florida during the breeding season. During winters, it is seen in the regions of Florida to northern South America. The bird species loves to thrive in farmland, brush areas, and open woodland. It is closely related to lazuli bunting and interbreeds with the species where their ranges overlap. Indigo Buntings can grow upto 11.5 to 13 cm in length where both males and female are different in colouration. The Western Bluebird is one of the small and beautiful birds that are blue that belongs to North American thrush. The bird species was described by the English naturalist William John Swainson in 1832 and given the binomial name Sialia Mexicana. It can grow upto 15 to 18 cm in length and both male and female differ in appearance. Males are bright blue on top and on the throat with an orange breast and sides, however, females are duller blue body with wings and tail along with a dull orange breast and a grey belly. The diet includes worms and berries, however, it is also seen eating aerial prey, like insects, when available.
